I have never used one of those machines... One alternative would be doing GHRs with heels underneath a smith machine bar locked at the bottom and a mat under the knees. I use a weight rack bolted to the floor to secure my feet, you could also use open stairs etc.

I have used it and the thing is amazing for burning out your legs at the end of a killer workout. Sadly the gym that i work at doesnt have one but I am going to talk with the fitness director and see if we can get one because they are that good
